Large porcelain panels can carry a broad vein pattern with fewer seams. They need specialized handling and a suitable path through the building. The full elevation, including niches and valve openings, should be planned before fabrication.
What flexibility does tile provide?
Individual tiles offer a wider range of layouts and may be easier to handle in tight access conditions. Pattern and joint placement become part of the design. Preparation remains essential even when pieces are smaller than a wall panel.
What belongs in the estimate?
Compare preparation, material waste, edge details, delivery, handling, cutouts and waterproofing. A price for panels alone cannot be compared directly with an installed tile quote. Confirm what happens if a piece is damaged during the project.

It can have fewer joints across a wall, but corners, seams and transitions still need suitable details. It also needs a waterproofing assembly.
